Special Edition: ‘Social Pods in a Home’

Some very special social pods are coming up! The OneThousandClub believes that meaningful connection between Portuguese and Foreigners often starts around the table.

As such, a member of the club will be opening their arms to receive you at their home for a very special dinner. With every week a new host and most importantly a different chef. Imagine tasting typical food from madeira with a little twist, or getting your taste buds drooling over street food and it’s deliciousness?

21st of March! THE CHEF of the week: Pai Grande Rules

Pai Grande Rules (Big Father) comes from the expression in Angolan slang to describe someone who takes care of the other with dedication and commitment. As such, it would be difficult to disassociate the commitment and quality that is required by Diogo Lima’s culinary project., a Portuguese chef with roots in the deep alentejo town of Crato.

What he lacks in experience in professional and fast paced kitchens, he is given in confidence and daring to dismember the acquired concept of chef, creating with a humble soul and a pinch of fun the dishes he presents us. From the Middle East to Texas, from the Caucasus to Italy and even traditional portuguese favours.

You can find him hosting pop-ups at the coolest wine bars around town.

Who’s up for a Turkish brunch in a hidden patio of an art club house?

…and yes, there will be mimosas 🍸

On the 18th of march we are hosting a brunch in this old mansion, completely renovated, after passing through the impressive front door, you will enter the magical world of Bobrum.

More than a hotel, Casa dell’Arte Club House Lisbon is a place dedicated to art and the best of Turkey. We have reserved the hidden patio for ourselves, and we will have a huge buffet for a 100% Turkish brunch.

Expect a rich menu presented on a large table with Turkish classics such as “Borek” with spinach, “Gozleme” with seafood, “Mercimek Koftesi” lentil dumplings, fried vegetable fritters “Mucver” with yoghurt sauce and of course the unmissable “Baklava” with rolled walnuts and the Turkish coffee! We can’t wait to host our first weekend brunch!

Ninho’s Sunset Party Photos!

Last night we hosted our second monthly event at Ninho check out the photos and share them, don’t forget to tag us @onethousandclub_lisbon.

We hosted two rounds: Ninho #1 as a stand-up and Ninho #2 we played a ‘Confession Game’ where every member had a table assigned with a group of guests and a set of question cards.
